Congratulations go to Professor Gillian Baird who was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s birthday honours. Gillian, an Afasic Vice President, was honoured for her services to medicine at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, London.

2011 has been designated the National Year of Speech, Language and Communication.
